Last week I hiked Newton Canyon to Buzzard's Roost in Malibu. If you like wild flowers then this is the trail to visit. There were so many wildflowers, including some I have never seen before. It starts out on a nice single-track trail and you are surrounded by a lush green scenery. There was a waterfall along the trail but it was dry. After a few miles you reach the road and a sign. Follow the Zuma Ridge trail on a fire road until you reach the Buzzard's Roost Ranch. It is private property but if you climb up the short, steep use path across from it you get awesome ocean views.
Stats: 9 miles, 1700' gain.

Someone had a lot of time on their hands making those rock circles.

The rock circles have been there for at least 20 years. I suspect they get repaired now and again.

There is also a similar one near Jim Morrison Cave off the Backbone Trail that has been there for a long time.
