Mike and I went up to baldy today. Started out at about 5:30 from manker. We took the western portion of the bowl up to the ridge. The wind was blowing pretty good and the snow in this part of the bowl was nice and hard. We originally wanted to head in a more northerly direction, but there were softball sized pieces rock falling off the large out cropping at the top of the bowl. By the time I got to the summit the wind had really diminished. The summit temp was surprisingly pleasant. One person one top when I arrived, then I had the summit to myself for about 30 minutes before the masses started arriving.

Thank you very much for showing conditions! They look great!

The center of the bowl is a warzone for falling rocks during the day. I was hoping to ascend up one of those steeper chutes either very early in the morning, or at night on a full-moon.

Thanks!

Looks like the coverage was the best so far this season in the bowl.
Unfortunately, I wasn't playing there today...
